How it works
Jaga Musolla does two jobs. When it's time to pray, it gets you to a masjid, a musolla, or a clean corner as fast as possible. And when you have a moment, it lets you look after the places we all pray in.
Where the information comes from
- Masjid
- All 70 mosques in the MUIS Mosque Directory, built into the app so it works with a weak signal.
- Musolla
- The MusollahSG.com Singapore directory (closed ones left out), plus spots shared on Jaga Musolla. Campus musolla are pinned to their building, so follow the directions inside.
- Toilets
- OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors), downloaded to your phone.
- Prayer times
- Worked out on your phone with MUIS's settings. They match the MUIS timetable to within a minute. The MUIS timetable is the authority.
- Kiblat
- The direction to the Kaabah from where you are, about 293° (west-north-west) anywhere in Singapore. The compass uses your phone's sensor.
- What kind of place you're in
- OpenStreetMap's map of buildings. If our guess is wrong, change it with one tap.
Your privacy
- Your location stays on your phone. Distances, prayer times and the kiblat are all worked out there.
- Nearby musolla, toilets and the kind of building you're in come from a map file your phone downloads once. Your location isn't sent anywhere to look them up.
- No sign-in. In this preview, the spots and requests you share are saved on your phone only.
- Photos are shrunk on your phone and their location data is removed. Please keep faces and people out of them.
Coming next
- Sharing spots and care requests with everyone, with a moderator checking each one first.
- Reminders when a musolla you looked after is due for another check.
- MTFA's volunteer cleaning teams, booked from the app.
- Bahasa Melayu.
